History note from HOLLIS (for MC291): Science teacher (Radcliffe, A.B., 1914; Harvard Graduate School of Education, Ed.M., 1928), Holman was head (April 1919-May 1920) of the Radcliffe Unit in France established by the Radcliffe Alumnae Association War Work Committee to help with the reconstruction of French villages after World War I. Members of the unit were drivers and nurses aides for the French Red Cross. Holman was stationed at Buzy. From 1921 to 1952, she taught at the Winsor School in Boston.</text>
