Arrived at 10 in Paris. Great fun. Took little cab to Petrograd; only 14 fr. single room left so since I had come to economize I took a 7 fr double one (!) with chance of having some one, but didn't. Not half bad, near shopping, but it still seems like home to get to quiet dignified Etoile, fine for a night like that. Met K. Shortall (Mde Chardice[?] gave her 500 fr) at breakfast, was to get passport that day + leave for [illegible] Sunday. Dinner with her, too. A dear girl. Hot day + by time all my shopping was done I was quite tired. Had many small bundles including a triangle ! (not small!) Miss you people terribly. Children still nice., Not in RLIN. History note from HOLLIS (for MC291): Science teacher (Radcliffe, A.B., 1914; Harvard Graduate School of Education, Ed.M., 1928), Holman was head (April 1919-May 1920) of the Radcliffe Unit in France established by the Radcliffe Alumnae Association War Work Committee to help with the reconstruction of French villages after World War I. Members of the unit were drivers and nurses aides for the French Red Cross. Holman was stationed at Buzy. From 1921 to 1952, she taught at the Winsor School in Boston.
