Caption reads: Ford's Willow Run bomber factory, shown here as it looked two decades ago, was the largest single-building plant in the world when completed in 1942. The first factory to mass produce planes, it built 8,685 B-24's during World War II. The factory, occupied by Kaiser-Fraser from 1945-53, was acquired by GM's Hydra-Matic Division in 1953. The plant can be seen today from I-94, a few miles east of Ypsilanti.</text>
