Holman, Ferry Hall, Lake Forest, Illinois, U.S.A. [stamped:] UNION DES FEMMES DE FRANCE ET VILLAGE RECONSTITUE. POST DISPENSAIRE RENAISSANCE DES FOYERS. BUZY, Not in RLIN or HOLLIS., Not in RLIN. History note from HOLLIS (for MC291): Science teacher (Radcliffe, A.B., 1914; Harvard Graduate School of Education, Ed.M., 1928), Holman was head (April 1919-May 1920) of the Radcliffe Unit in France established by the Radcliffe Alumnae Association War Work Committee to help with the reconstruction of French villages after World War I. Members of the unit were drivers and nurses aides for the French Red Cross. Holman was stationed at Buzy. From 1921 to 1952, she taught at the Winsor School in Boston., Not in RLIN. History note from HOLLIS (her mss. collection): Social worker, (Radcliffe College, B.A., 1914, Simmons College, School of Social Work), Burrage worked at various Boston social service agencies. She joined the Radcliffe Unit established by the Radcliffe Alumnae Association War Work Committee. Its members were drivers and aides to the French Red Cross, from April 1919 to May 1920, during reconstruction efforts in French villages in the aftermath of World War I. Burrage was stationed with the Union des Femmes de France, Poste Dispensaire in Vermand, Aisne., Radcliffe College, Class of 1912. Not in RLIN.
