Little Rock Nine

Nine African American students started attendttle Rock Central High School where until that moment white students had attended the school. The Little Rock Nine, as they were later known, came across a huge white mob and soldiers from the Arkansas National Guard who had been ordered by Gov. Orval Eugene Faubus to block the entry to the school.
