"Nah, you ain't got enough edjiccashun to vote"

Description

Editorial cartoon shows an African American man experiencing discrimination while trying to vote; holding books and carrying a briefcase bearing a Tuskegee pendent, he stands before three white males; one man is seated with his feet resting on top a padlocked ballot box. On December 8, 1958, the Federal Civil Rights Commission and the State of Alabama clashed over whether African-American voting rights had been violated. African-American doctors, teachers, ministers and nurses testified about their unsuccessful attempts to register at the college center of Tuskegee.
