Rhoda Palmer, who accompanied her father to the 1848 convention, recalls that only women could speak on the first day and comments "The seed fell on good ground, But the end is not yet. Nor will it be until women can claim what rightly belongs to them, & the time is not far distant when this will be accomplished."
