Frankenstein in Baghdad's Violence

Our Neatline depicts a map of the violence that occurs in Frankenstein in Baghdad and the cultural and historical context of the locations.

The aim of our project is to link the violence in Frankenstein in Baghdad to the literal violence in Iraq. Thus, we chose to delineate the Whatsitsname's journey in order to demonstrate its nature as an allegory for the senselessness and ubiquity of violence.

Our map includes the following elements:

- Dora, the base of operations for the Whatsitsname and its allies

- The locations of three of the Whatsitsname's victims, which demonstrate how widespread the violence becomes

- Several other locations with historical and cultural context that links magical violence to literal violence.
