Justice System for Free Black People in the West Indies

Hello Everyone!

My name is Monique Covarrubias and I am a student at Santa Clara University. While reading the text, The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano by Olaudah Equiano, I was inspired to do more research about how free black peoples and mulattos were treated in regards to the justice systems in the West Indies throughout the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

After reading this short introduction I suggest that the best way to navigate this exhibit is by making your way down the waypoints in order.
