Pedestrian-Friendly Design in Modern Tokyo
View FullscreenIn this project I have chosen to research the city of Tokyo, the capital of Japan. Located in the approximate middle of the country, Tokyo is the largest city in Japan, and one of the most densely populated and economically thriving cities in the world. I have chosen this city for my City Discovery Project because it is one I have always been interested in and wish to explore one day. Learning about it through this project may give me a greater appreciation for some elements of the city when I eventually go there. The primary question I hope to answer in my report is as follows: What city design and infrastriuctrure elements does Tokyo use to make itself more pedestrian friendly? When answering this question I expect to delve into a few different sub topics, including city planning, design, infrastructure, and potentially some of the culture.
