Respecting History in a Modernizing Campus

Established in 1851, Santa Clara University is one of the oldest collegiate institutions in California, and is therefore rich in heretige and cultre. As the university has continued to grow and prosper, new and more modern buildings have been built. That said, these buildings need to be built to respect the architectureal prescident set by historical buildings. Through the use of color, architecture, and common elements, most of Santa Clara University’s modern architecture and campus design is informed by the historically significant elements of the campus.
