Italian American immigrants who settled in the west coast had a slightly simpler yet similar time assimilating into society through education compared to their counterparts living in the east coast. As previously mentioned, the west coast provided many more liberties to the Italian American people. The rural landscape, early development of schools and work environments, as well as the slightly differing views on Italian American social status heavily affected the importance Italians placed on school and education as a whole and shaped the path to assimilation through education for Italian Americans down a unique path.
