Historiography

World War II is widely known as one of the most important events in world history. It is no secret that there has been extensive research conducted on the topic throughout time. On the other hand, women in World War II is a slightly different story. Although research exists on the topics related to women in the armed forces during World War II, there isn’t necessarily a place or specific website that is all encompassing of this background information. Websites that discuss specific branches of the women’s armed forces contain a plethora of text, images and multimedia however they are typically only focused on one branch. Because these individual websites exist, it was my intention to create an online source that ties together all of the research that these other individual sites have already done. My hope is that this website serves as a singular platform where general information regarding each of the women’s armed forces in World War II can be viewed and reflected upon.

Thank you taking time to view this exhibit!
