    This site attempts to document the history of American Mixology and the making of cocktails through time. However, this attempt comes with a very important caveat. Like the history of food and the culinary arts, the history of mixology is far from linear and hard to trace. Things like class, community, location, and many more can determine how one eats or makes cocktails. Despite this difficulty and ambiguity, the history of cocktails is a worthwhile and ongoing study. I hope that after having interacted with this website, you’ll have that much more appreciation for a cocktail the next time you partake. At the least, I hope it helps with bar trivia.
