Jewish People Finding Refuge in The United States

Finding refuge in the US as a European Jew during and after WWII

For this subtopic, the focus is on the transition of Jewish people from regular civilians to those needing refuge to escape from the Nazis. I intend to answer the question of how the Jewish people sought refuge in the United States from Nazi Germany during World War II? World War Two in itself caused so much suffering to so many individuals. There was an immense number of casualties, many military and war-related, but a massive number being civilians. A prominent group of individuals that suffered a lot of casualties were the Jewish people. The Jewish people were hunted and murdered in various disgusting ways across the majority of Europe. Some of the most interesting stories from World War Two are the stories of the Jewish refugees who sought hiding in many different places not just in Europe, but the whole world. Not only do I find this topic captivating by itself, but as a Jewish person myself, my family has ties to Europe and the Holocaust. The Jewish refugees who survived the Holocaust are some of the most resilient and tenacious people I’ve researched about.
