Clint Smith explores the 1929-1939 period in this CrashCourse video, which about ended when the United States entered World War II.

This is a 12-minute video that summarizes what it was like to be a Black American during the Great Depression created by Crash Course and talked about by Clint Smith. Clint Smith describes the reasons why black communities were destroyed and forced out of employment. He also describes how laws and legislation were developed in ways that caused the majority of Black Americans to be excluded or left behind.
