- This book focuses on the American News networks and how they were provided scripts from the government to use as propaganda. It highlights the irony between America’s definition of freedom, and how it forced news networks to sell ideology to the public.

- This book focuses on the hysteria and plethora of propaganda created during the Cold War. It’s essentially a timeline or “tour” of iconic propaganda, whether a film, poster, magazine, or game.

- This book focuses on Hollywood’s role throughout the Cold War. It dives deep into the role of the producer: both how they were accused of being communist and coerced into making anti-communist propaganda. It highlights the power of cinema and its efficacy in winning hearts.

- This book focuses on the intent behind Cold War propaganda, and general reception from impressionable domestic and international consumers. The book focuses on the Cold War being a battle of the wits and how the US focused on winning the hearts/minds of people outside of the Iron Curtain.

- This book dives deep into the words or rhetoric used in speeches, pamphlets, and any other propaganda in order to influence. It espouses that propaganda should be defined as political communication, and it covers the power and limitations of American propaganda.

- Animal Farm is an iconic use of propaganda as it satirizes the Russian Revolution. It’s a good example of how those outside the Iron Curtain viewed the chaos and destabilization within the Soviet Union.
Snyder, Alvin A. Warriors of Ddisinformation: American Ppropaganda, Soviet Llies, and the Wwinning of the Cold War: An Iinsider’s Aaccount. New York: Arcade Pub., 1997.
- Warriors of Disinformation is a first-hand account of the colleague of the director of the USIA during the Cold War. The author knew all the propaganda strategies and techniques that the Pre-CIA used due to his friendship and close proximity to the director.

- The Manchurian Candidate is a film that focuses on the fears, paranoia, and anxieties those felt during the Cold War. It’s a phenomenal movie that is able to explore political manipulation and its effects on a person.
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Directed by Stanley Kubrick. 1964. Columbia Pictures.
- Dr. Strangelove is a film that focuses on a former Nazi Scientist working for the US. It again explores that debilitating fear one felt (or should feel) as nuclear escalation increased. It’s also considered a satirical dark comedy where one could be amused by the chaos and idiocy of possible world destruction.
