Ms. magazine, launched in 1972 by feminist activists Gloria Steinem and Dorothy Pitman Hughes, played a crucial role in advancing the women's liberation movement. As the first national feminist magazine, it provided a platform for women's voices and highlighted issues such as reproductive rights, workplace discrimination, and gender equality. Ms. challenged traditional gender norms, offering an alternative to the often male-dominated mainstream media. Its impact extended beyond publishing, serving as a key tool in raising awareness and sparking conversations about women's rights, empowering a new generation of feminists.

The above is an article that ran in the first preview issue of Ms. magazine. This is just a small example of the revolutionary articles that Ms. would write which like Friedan gave a voice to women's issues. This article shows how even with emerging legal protections women are still being harassed in the workplace.
