Second-Wave Feminism

The Second-Wave of Feminism is considered to have occurred between the 1960s to the early 1980s. It was sparked by Betty Friedan's book, The Feminine Mystique and took that fire through creating the National Organization for Women to Ms. magazine both bringing women together and supporting them. We also saw events such as Roe v. Wade and the National Women's Conference of 1977 which strongly fought for the Equal Rights Amendment. Within this exhibit we will look at the important activists who participated in the feminist movement as well as the events that impacted it.
