My name is Sean Nguyen and I will be helping my group cover the topic of the Cold War era. More specifically, I will be delving into the various conflicts that had taken place as a result of the Cold War, and how the Cold War had affected both geo-political tensions and national economic tensions. With proxy wars such as the Vietnam War, the Korean War, and the conflicts in Africa, geo-political networks were strained between democratic and communist countries. This also furthered the need for war production of tanks, ships and materials for the military, as well as military funding, which shifted the economy. This specific niche of the Cold War will show how the war was potentially not as peaceful as common belief may make it out to be, as well as how it affected more than just the soldiers that fought on the front lines.

Hi, my name is Nicola Coates, and I will be focusing on the Soviet perspective in the Cold War. I felt like most of my education about the Cold War has been from the perspective of the Western bloc, and have not seen or read about life in the USSR. My mother's side of the family actually fled the USSR in the late 1970s, so I have a genuine interest in learning about what was going on from a Soviet citizen's persective. I am fascinated by the amount of propaganda and media control held by the USSR, but also the slow influence of American or "western" goods such as Coca-Cola and blue jeans. Exploring propaganda compared to real-life in this exhibit will put other economic and historical events into a better context and give the viewer a more comprehensive analysis on the Cold War.

My name is Andrew Yuan and I would be focusing on three Soviet Weapons that captured the essence of the Cold War Mindset. Instead of the commonly discussed US perspectives, we seek to open a side door on the history we all know and well and allow for a different viewpoint. Through a smaller scope of focus on the design of a select few weapons (like a specific plane, a specific tank, a specific artillery) and feats of engineering, dig deeper into the mindset that kicked the cold war into high gear. Superior soviet weapons incite fear and create further tension in cold war?
