Letter From German Nurse Herti - 1945

In this letter Herti, a German nurse, writes to her husband telling him about what she did during the New Year's holiday. Herti is a nurse that was stationed in Russia but in her letter, she explains how she had traveled home to Berlin to visit friends and family. She talks about how there had been a lot of bombings over the city of Berlin which worried her at times, but she seemed to remain faithful to the Nazi party and believed that they were still in a good position in the war even though this was not true. There were a lot of Germans who still believed that they could win the war even when Germany was being pushed back and nearing its collapse at the end of WWII. This was due to the propaganda that the German people were being fed by the Nazi party, and Herti even mentioned this when she stated that she had been listening to the Führer often for information, which was a source of this false propaganda. It seems like Herti might have been one of these Germans who fell for the Nazi parties lies and propaganda (Herti 1945).
