What is the perception of Indian Americans in the work force?

While the median income among Indian American households reached a noteworthy $145,000 in 2022, according to Pew Research Center, it's important to recognize this statistic doesn't paint the whole picture. The model minority myth often portrays Indian Americans as a uniformly successful group.
However, the median income figure highlights a significant income disparity within the community. While half of Indian American households do indeed surpass this threshold, the other half falls below it. This spread suggests the wealth within the Indian American population isn't evenly distributed, and the stereotype overlooks the struggles of many Indian Americans.

In the case of Indian Americans, the model minority myth can lead to the belief that they are all wealthy and successful. This can lead to discrimination against Indian Americans who are not wealthy or successful. It can also lead to resentment from other groups who may feel that Indian Americans are taking their jobs or opportunities.
